About Us

We’re a locally owned and managed self storage facility, looking to bring our customers the best experience available. We’ve been in business for over 20 years, all with the same owner, so we know what it takes to make our customers happy. That’s why we use the smiley faces. They’re easy to recognize and show you the way you’ll feel when you choose Vern’s Self Storage!

No other facility caters to the residents of Laramie, Wyoming and surrounding communities like we do. If you’re a student at WyoTech, you can work on your project cars inside our units. We have 2 buildings of 60 units apiece to help the students of the University of Wyoming over the summer months. We’re centrally located to many of the cities around us and in northern Colorado, so stop in and check us out!

Our facility is well maintained and clean, with onsite maintenance crews and a manager that lives on the property. Our aisles are wide enough for semi-trucks and our ceilings are high enough that you can double your storage space if you stack. Need a place to put your RV or boat? Us one of our outdoor or indoor vehicle parking spaces! Don’t wait to give our professional staff a call!

From downtown Laramie, WY:

  • Head south on S 5th St toward Grand Ave
  • Turn right at the cross street onto Grand Ave
  • Turn left at the 2nd cross street onto S 3rd St
  • In 1.1 miles, turn left onto Skyline Rd
  • Vern’s Self Storage will be on your right

From Rock River, WY:

  • Head west on Ave A toward S 5th St
  • Turn left at the cross street onto S 5th St
  • Continue onto US-287 S/N 3rd St
  • Continue to follow US-287 S for 39.5 miles
  • Turn left onto Skyline Rd
  • Vern’s Self Storage will be on your right

From Rawlins, WY:

  • Head west on W Spruce St toward 3rd St
  • Turn left at the cross street onto 3rd St
  • Turn left at the 3rd cross street onto I-80 BUS/US-287 S/US-30 BUS/W Cedar St
  • Follow signs for I-80 E/US-30 E/Laramie
  • Continue to follow I-80 BUS/US-287 S/US-30 BUS for 2.3 miles
  • Take the ramp onto I-80 E
  • In 96.7 miles, take exit 313 for US-287/3rd St toward Fort Collins, Colorado
  • Turn right onto US-287 S/S 3rd St, following signs for Fort Collins
  • Turn left onto Skyline Rd
  • Vern’s Self Storage will be on your right

From Livermore, CO:

  • Head east on W County Rd 74 E/Red Feather Lakes Rd
  • Turn left toward US-287 N
  • Turn left onto US-287 N
  • In 42.5 miles, turn right onto Skyline Rd

Thanks again and I hope you have an available unit next time I need one. I've rented several different storage units over the years and I have never had such a good experience. Usually people are cranky and difficult and rather shady. You are none of those things and so helpful and kind...I don't usually write storage companies thank you notes but here it is

Above and Beyond Care

I work for a transportation company that recently had an issue that got thrust on Vern's. Christine has gone above and beyond in coordinating with us to assist in the resolution of this issue, even when she had no obligation to do so. I can't say enough about how much she has helped. If I were in the area, I know who I'd trust with my things beyond a doubt.

This a rebuttal to the previous review. I have rented here for several years and have never had anything but a pleasant experience with Vern's. The staff was always been more than helpful and go out of there way to make sure my unit is in good working order. They even used their company vehicle to take me to Wheatland to get the last of my stuff.

With a warning: clean facility, unprofessional and grumpy staff

The office manager ranges from unprofessional to downright rude! I found their customer service to be severely lacking, odd since their logo is a smiley face. Nothing but attitude here! I will be looking for a new storage facility ASAP!
